Other than for on-going testing and sampling needs, LUMI manufactures products on demand and does not maintain an inventory of products. We also maintain raw materials based on existing and projected needs. Purchase orders from our customers trigger raw materials placement and then are entered into the production calendar, and everything is allocated from packaging to labor requirements. LUMI's customized ERP system tracks the flow of every order to ensure the fastest and most accurate production as possible. Once the production process is complete, the delivery of the products is arranged based on the customer's requirements.

Generally speaking, the majority of LUMI products (TV and AV mounting devices, ergonomic furniture, carts and accessories) are not required to carry the CE Mark in order to be sold in the European market. This is due to the fact that CE Directive BS EN 292 does not apply to non-powered equipment such as LUMI products. Since our products can only be used to position devices where the operator provides all moving force (meaning that the motion of the product will stop immediately when the operator ceases to apply force to the product) our products do not fall under the definition of machinery as defined in BS EN 292. Electric or Electronic devices (or hybrid products that combine both mechanical/electronic design) are normally required to carry the CE Mark and therefore are tested for compliance under CE guidelines.

Yes, many of LUMI's products carry the UL Certification Mark. UL is a global leader in safety certifications and the UL MARK is the most accepted Certification Mark in the United States. LUMI is one of the few manufacturers that operate an in-house UL Witness Test Data Lab. This allows us to perform safety testing on-premises for designs that we are creating for the general market and for our OEM/ODM customers. Having the ability to pre-test provides our customers with the confidence in knowing the product being developed meets quality standards prior to applying for formal certification. In order to evaluate and certify products, UL and TÜV use product samples in their test processes. While both UL and TÜV maintain their own extensive test facilities, a select number of their customers (such as LUMI) qualify to utilize their own in-house test facilities and equipment. Through these Witness Test Data Programs product evaluation can be conducted at LUMI headquarters under the supervision of UL and TÜV personnel. LUMI's standard laboratory has officially acquired UL and TÜV lab certification and employs our internal test lab in the evaluation of products. The laboratory, physical resources, equipment, personnel and procedures that LUMI adopts are equivalent to the processes and equipment used in UL and TÜV's own test laboratories.

LUMI believes in being a responsible manufacturer as it relates to the environment. Our Corporate GREEN initiative promotes the use and recycling of raw materials including rubber and steel products. Yes. In general, LUMI mounts are tested to hold 3 or 4 times the stated load capacity. In order to assure absolute safety in actual use, we strictly limit the rated capacity of our products.

LUMI takes product safety very seriously. LUMI has assessed that some of its products contain one or more substances found on the Prop 65 Substance List, therefore warnings may be required. Although Prop 65 only applies in the state of California USA, LUMI sells to customers located around the world and in markets each with their own requirements. Therefore, LUMI will work to assist customers that may be required to address the labeling and notification requirements of Prop 65. LUMI factories use standard Incoming Quality Control (IQC) as the process of controlling the quality of materials and parts for manufacturing a product before production begins. With incoming inspection, LUMI controls quality even before conducting a first article inspection or during production inspection.

LUMI uses industry-standard IPQC (in-process quality control) processes. These are checks that are carried out before the manufacturing process is completed. The function of in-process controls is monitoring and if necessary adaption of the manufacturing process in order to comply with the specifications.

Again, LUMI uses industry-standard QC protocols for QC. 1st finished products coming off the line are inspected based on product specification and functional ability. Any corrective action that needs to take place is performed. As 30% of the production is completed, they are checked for quality and production status along with the monitoring of any corrective action. Packing does not begin until there is a check of all labeling and packing methods prior to beginning the final process. These elements are the basics for a final QC, however, LUMI customers can work with our QC team to develop customized quality processes based on their requirements.

Absolutely! For safety and certification, we maintain close relationships with test labs in China. This allows us to supplement our internal test data with outside professional testing resources as well.

Yes, each individual packaging contains an English installation manual. The customized manual is also available with an MOQ of 1000 pieces.

Most LUMI products are packaged in Gift Boxes. We also provide the following packaging for certain products: Brown Box, White Box, Clam Shell, Blister Card, PET Folded Box, and Poly Bag. 1. D.I.Y.  –  Manage Your Own Freight for Full Control
New to novice-level importers typically choose this freight management process. The pro to this option is that all you have to do is instruct LUMI to ship cargo as CIF "Port of Destination" or DAP "Your facility Address".
2. Work with a Freight Forwarder
This is the most convenient option for companies that purchase from LUMI. Companies also tend to prefer the idea of working with a freight forwarder that's based on their home turf for extra peace of mind, more transparency, and faster communication. Using a freight forwarder may increase your overall cost when importing products into your locations.
· FOB (Freight on Board)
This is the most popular method for importers/buyers of LUMI. We are responsible for transporting goods from their place of origin and having the goods loaded onto the vessel at the container port. Once loaded onto the China shipping container, the risk of loss or damage transfers from LUMI to the importer/buyer. From this point on, the importer is responsible for all insurance and transportation costs. It will also be the importer's responsibility to ensure goods clear customs. This method is known to be one of the cheapest ways to ship from China to the USA.
· CIF (Cost Insurance Freight)
LUMI is responsible for the transportation of goods from the place of origin to the port of destination. LUMI is also responsible for purchasing insurance on behalf of the importer/buyer. However, once loaded onto the vessel, the importer/buyer will assume any risk of damaged or lost goods and will need to file an insurance claim in such a case.
· CFR (Cost and Freight)
LUMI is responsible for the transportation of goods to the port of destination along with all associated costs. Liability is transferred to the importer/buyer once goods are placed on board the vessel. The importer/buyer is responsible for payment of port handling costs at the port of destination and land or rail transportation to the destination warehouse.

Yes, LUMI ships both FCL and LCL for our customers. These are the two basic options given when importing products from overseas. Your official quote will contain information on the number of units required to fill most container sizes. However, the general rule of thumb is that if you purchase about 10 or more pallets of product, FCL (Full Container Load) is the best choice. FCL is the most cost-effective container choice and is calculated by the cost per volume metric and unit weight. Full containers come in 20 ft, 40 ft, and 40 ft high (HC or HQ) variations. For businesses importing smaller volumes of goods, LCL (Less than Container Load) is the alternative solution. LCL is shared container freight where several buyers store their goods in a single container. Although LCL is a great option for the smallest businesses, the downside is the cost is higher per volumetric. There are normally other fees associated with shipping LCL and LUMI can help you understand the process should you be shipping LCL.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to recent circumstances in the shipping and logistics industry, the lead time for moving products from China to anywhere in the world has been increased 2 and 3 fold in both cost and lead times. Normally, the time it takes to ship from China to the United States may vary slightly depending on the destination port. West coast cities such as Los Angeles, Oakland, and Portland have an approximate lead time of 20 days. East coast cities such as Miami, Jacksonville, Baltimore and New Jersey have lead times of approximately 30 days. It's doesn't happen often, but there may be a scenario where there's an issue with a container ship after it has left the port of origin. In a cumbersome situation such as this, another 10 – 15 days may need to be added to the lead time. NOTE: It is in these cases that a freight forwarder can be quite helpful.

VESA holes or VESA hole patterns refer to the configuration of the four mounting holes on the back of a flat panel TV or computer monitor. For example, in a 100 x 200 mm VESA pattern, the screw holes are arranged in a rectangle of 100 x 200 mm apart.


LUMI complies with a set of standards set by the VESA Association known as the Flat Display Mounting Interface (FDMI) or Mounting Interface Standard (MIS). This makes it easy to choose a mount that can accommodate and safely hold your display.

All LUMI mounting solutions are VESA compliant and carry the Official VESA Mounting Compliant Seal. Being VESA compliant indicates that our mounts are engineered in accordance with the Flat Display Mounting Interface (FDMI) Standard also known as the Mounting Interface Standard (MIS) as developed by the VESA Organization. Articulating arms have multiple adjustable joints and can be pulled forward or pushed back, move up or down and swivel with ease. There are a variety of different types of TV mounts on the market from fixed to tilt and full-motion. Compared to fixed or tilt, full motion means the greatest range of movement.
